"The Underlings II"

It has been a while since i have posted anything and thought it about time. This one was from some doodles i did of birds flying around and had fun with the scene they were flying around in. It is done with watercolor, acrylic, gouache, and ink on paper. I find it so freeing to just paint and not worry about realistic renditions and such. Hope all are well. Blessings always.

  1. Ross, I wish my doodles resulted into such dynamic and lively paintings:-) As always, I am in awe of your great imagination and how you can translate it so well to paper. It's interesting that you have combined ink, gouache and watercolor in this painting...will this be a new approach for you?

  2. Thanks Christiane for stopping by and for your very encouraging words.
These paintings are quite interesting to do as i really have no idea how they will look when they are done. In the beginning i have a vague idea and a rough sketch to go by but the painting kind of shows me the way once i begin. I love that process and therefore will most likely keep on going with this new approach. I do still paint in several other styles and have yet to stick to one in particular. Now i shall go visit your very fine blog!
