"Luke"


This is the second of the commissions i had donated to 
"Rescue A Boxer" from Vancouver as a fundraiser item. The family who won the bid 
wanted a portrait of their Luke. 
I've done a lot of Boxers and have gotten to know the breed quite well. 
With this one, i painted his eyes first so he could watch me work 
and keep me company. 
We became good companions as i felt his warm, gentle spirit. 
Watercolour, 12 X 16 on Arches 300 lb. CP paper.

    Such an amazing job. I can't stop staring at his eyes. You absolutely got his spirit in them. I'm so honoured to have had you paint my Luke

      Thanks so much Matt. I am so glad to hear i captured his spirit. That is something i strive for. It was an honour for me to paint your Luke. He was a most handsome boy.

    Ross, I don't know how I missed this one.... I admire your work so much and the fact that we are kindred spirits when it comes to animals. Your love for them comes through loud and clear in your work.
