"Brattland"

A wee watercolour, 14" X 18" about a family and all their memories rolled into one.
There is the cabin by the seaside, a raft with children, the sail boat they sailed around the world on, a kayak with hubbie and family pet and all the other marine vessels they've owned.
I had a binder full of photos to work from and put this together for them. They said they liked it! I'm happy with that.
Watercolour on Arches CP paper.

    1. Thank you Pat. So nice to see you here. It has been a long time since last i posted. This painting was such a challenge to me. I kept putting it off until it became a real stressful part of daily life. I finally decided to dive in and once i did the water seemed fine! Crazy how we put off the things we will eventually do anyway. :)

  3. What a lovely family painting - you've captured all their memories so beautifully. And that is indeed the best compliment for an artist!

    1. Hello Kathryn! I was too afraid to reveal this to them because it is such a personal piece for the people who commissioned me. I had the gallery owner take it over to their house. The report back was very positive. Such a relief. :)
