"Splash 14"

I am so excited, "Splash 14" finally arrived at my door.  It was the most amazing thing to receive my copy of this beautiful book and see my painting, "Meana" side by side with some of the best watercolorists around.  Ones i have been admiring for a very long time. It was a dream come true for this artist as i had submitted once before and did not get accepted. Hooray! I've scoured these books end to end for years. To finally see this with one of my paintings was crazy. I am still gobsmacked. If you would like a copy of your own, here is a link to Northlight publishing. It is really well done with over 100 artists represented.

    1. Thank you Kathryn. I was so attached to Meana and was hard pressed to let her go. Sure wish i had kept just this one. Meana was named after my mother-in-law who did not mind and is quite thrilled her name sake is in a book. :)

  7. Celebrity maybe but most likely the 15 minutes of fame. :) It does give one the impetus to press on though. I cannot tell you how many times I've chucked my paints and swore never to touch them again. But then the urge strikes once more and off we go. Such fun this art business. I do plane each year to push myself a bit more. This year will be more acrylics. Yours are awesome Christiane.

  10. Ross, thank you so much for your comment on Cindy's portrait. I think i may be cutting back on computer time, too - more painting and drawing time, and more "close encounters" with clients.

  11. Wow, what an honour to be featured in a book called The Best of Watercolour. You deserve it! It looks like a lot of people believe you are the best, based on all of the commissions you have been asked to do of their family members (aka pets) lately! Well done!

    1. Thanks Renee! I do feel so honoured to be in a Splash book. I've been very fortunate with commissions too and appreciate them for sure. It is still so humbling for me to make a painting for someone and they actually want to take it home and hang it on their wall! I hope to never lose the feeling of awe over that. Hope you had a great Christmas and Happy New Year Renee.
