"Bronte"

This is Bronte. A lovely Beagle belonging to a fellow in Australia.  I've been fairly busy lately with dog portraits and have a few more to finish, hopefully before August. This little girl sat nearly finished for the longest time because i was just not able to see a final image clearly for some reason. Today it happened and we had a grand time together. I asked little Bronte to lead the way and she did! The rest as they say is, "history". Watercolor on Arches 300 lb. cold pressed paper. 18" X 18".

  1. Beautiful work, Ross. Love the bright colours around and in her. I know this will be treasured.

    1. Thank you Pat. Your comments are always so appreciated. Doing commissions can be a bit scary as one never knows whether they will be accepted or if they will even turn out well. But i do love doing them, especially the dogs. :)

  2. Bronte looks very dignified and you did a great job. The client will feel that the portrait was certainly worth the wait.
    Congratulations on those commissions.

    1. Thank you Christiane. I'm never sure when i do these as it is not for me but someone else. The owner was pleased which made my day. I sent Bronte off in the post today. She has a long trip to make and i felt a tad bit sad at her departure. This is often the case as i find it hard to part with them once done.
