"Pequito 1"

Here is my first foray into the world of "acrylic". I have to admit it was a lot of fun and cannot wait to begin another. I like the fact you can correct things and move them around as you go. Not so with watercolour of course.  I loved the freedom it affords.
This little guy is a Christmas gift for his master. I need to put the finishing touches on him soon as the 25th is coming fast! 24" X 24"

  3. Hi Ross. I love the pug, and his scarf is perfect! It looks like you have him posing in Van Gogh's bedroom - wonderful concept! I know the owner will love this portrait.

    1. Hi Kathryn. Thank you for your encouraging words. I so enjoy using the background for some fun with old masters artworks. Backgrounds used to trouble me as i never knew what to do with them. Now i see them as a playground of sorts. A place to play and experiment.

    2. I think almost all of us have trouble with backgrounds. Your "playground" technique with old masters art is a brilliant idea.

  5. At first I thought the scarf was hiding a lost ear! But no, there it is intact. Lovely painting, the dog is perfect and is that Van Gogh at the door?
