Thanks Lorraine. I was very happy with the painting as it progressed, finishing the little guy on the bottom first. The background threw me off a bit. Interesting, how a painting can be easy peesy sometimes but oh my, those backgrounds. I struggle there but they're coming. :)
Hi Ross. Your Boxers are perfect. You have captured their sense of humor and personality so very well - it's easy to see you know and love the breed dearly.
Thank you so much Kathryn. Yes, Boxers do have a sense of humour for sure as do their owners! :) It pleases me that you are able to see this in the painting. It is my hope with each commission that i capture the dogs personality. The owners of these pups is happy with the outcome. Thank you for your visit.
So, your secret is Arches 300...tried it recently for the first time and liked it! Glad to see you're still painting and posting. I don't visit the blogs as often...getting more involved with FB like many others. Sharing between both works really well too. Regards.
I love the heavy paper and stretch it before working on it. I do not like it to buckle at all. The 300lb. offers durability which the 140 does not. I buy the best paints and brushes so might as well go for the good support as well. I've been trying Facebook a lot more recently and quite enjoy the response. The traffic is a lot more vigourous. Thanks for your visit and for commenting. Happy painting!
Nice detail with the collar and beautiful expressive eyes
