Painted this sweet girl for an upcoming group show at the Ruberto Ostberg galleries in Calgary. I love doing cows and enjoy trying to capture their quirky personality. This one I named "Meena" which is my mother in laws name. She did not mind and i showed her the painting. So far my sister, my cousins and my aunts have all had bovine paintings named in their honor. This is watercolor on Arches 300lb. cold pressed paper and is 20" X 25".
Me place ver esta deliciosa ternera, de verdad que sí es una chica dulce, como dices.
ReplyDeleteMi admiración por la labor artística que desarrollas, por el éxito merecido y por regalarnos belleza en este mundo más necesitado de sensibilidad.
¡Gracias siempre aunque no pueda estar a menudo!

ReplyDeletePat it is always so nice to see you here. I must go and see what you are up to now. Perhaps a dog, or a chicken? Blessings. Ross
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable cow Ross. You've captured quite a personality there. I've never thought of having a cow named after me as being a complement but since you've honored so many other family members in that way, your mother-in-law was probably feeling left out. She should be very happy. 'Meena' is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy. I appreciate your comments. Yes, my mother-in-law is a good sport as are all the other gals that had a painting named in their honor. Perhaps they are all planning their revenge? Smile!
ReplyDeleteLove this Ross, and it reminds me of a cow that I had named after me. Not such a compliment. My brother, who is a rancher, wound it with an angus/santa gertrudus cross cow who was rankest, most athletic, people-hating, run-over-you cow he ever owned. As she was running the vet up the fence at weaning it was revealed to me that he'd named her Gena. Gotta love those brothers.
ReplyDeleteYour work is so joyful. Keep it up!
Nice painting, very well executed and very funny!
